Bike Trail Network Grand Opening Celebration

To celebrate the completion of the 11 kilometre Bike Trail Network, the City of Corner Brook and partners, Cycle Solutions, Environmental Policy Institute, Western Health and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, would like to invite all bike enthusiasts and the general public to the Grand Opening taking place on July 5th.

Bring the entire family to Margaret Bowater Park and help us celebrate this amazing event!

The celebration kicks off on the north side of the park at 6:00 pm with the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony. Officials from the City will be present to formally open the Bike Trail Network which will be followed by a RNC escorted family bike ride on a portion of the bikeway.

Activities to follow the family bike ride include a bike rodeo for kids, bike decorating, and BBQ. Educational booths will display information about bicycle safety and healthy and active living and there will be a movie screening at the band stand area on the south side of the park at approximately 8:00 pm.

In addition to the festivities, all participants will have their name entered into a prize draw for a brand new bike from Cycle Solutions.

“The new Bike Trail Network helps those who live and work in the city to use bicycles as a low polluting, cost-effective, and healthy way to travel,” said Neville Greeley, Mayor of Corner Brook. “It promotes active and healthy lifestyles and also creates a more livable environment”.

The City of Corner Brook and partners are encouraging everyone to come out and celebrate healthy living in Corner Brook.
