Kids Club Program for May at The Suncor Energy Fluvarium

 

There is no such thing as garbage in nature … plants and animals can recycle everything they use!  Discover how caddisflies borrow from the plants to make their homes, how worms turn old plants into soil, how nothing goes to waste in nature and how we can try to be waste free too.

 

Every Saturday and Sunday from May 7-29 at 1:30pm

Program runs approx. 45-60 minutes

This Fluvarium Kids program is Family Fun and can include an outdoor component, game, story and craft!

 

Fluvarium Kids Club Weekend Programs

Have you heard? Kids ages 5–10 and their families are invited to join Fluvarium Kids! Receive updates, collect stickers, and earn a Fluvarium Kids Fresh Water Friends certificate when you attend sessions in four different months!

 

Fluvarium Kids programs are complimentary with admission.

SUMMER ENVIRONMENTAL DAY CAMP 

Mercy Centre for Ecology and Justice, 101 Mount Scio Road invites children in Grades 2 and 3 in present school  year to attend Summer Environmental Day Camp week of June 27 – 309:00 – 330 pm or  July 4 – 8, 9:00 – 2:30 pm,  and children in Grades 4 and 5 in present  year  week of   July 11-15.    Through learning made fun, participants gain a greater awareness of themselves as part of creation and of all creation as part of them.  Registration:  $60.00.  To pre-register:  email mcej@live.com or phone 722-0082.  Register early as space is limited to 10 children per week.

Nature Newfoundland and Labrador is holding our annual clean-up of Long Pond on Saturday, May 7, 2016, starting at 10:00 a.m. Meet  and other campus buildings). Learn more about environmental initiatives in your town and how you can help!

Date: Saturday, April 30, 2016, 10 am to 2 pm (set up at 8 am).

Location: St. Lawrence Anglican Church Hall, Portugal Cove-across from post office.

Hosted by: The Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s Advisory Committee on the Environment (ACE)

-There will be free face painting for kids, a 35 ft. Minke Whale on display and electric cars to test drive.

-Special guest appearance by Ted Blades, CBC Radio’s host of “On the Go”.

-Century Farm award presented to Mr. Tucker by The Agriculture History Society.
