Food Education Action – St. John’s (FEASt) is announcing their 3rd annual open garden day. The event will take place on SundayAugust 21, 2011 between 12 and 4 pm. Registration is encouraged as soon as possible.
Open Garden Day is a chance for those interested in or already growing their own food to take a self guided tour through the many gardens in the city. FEASt will provide a map to all the participating gardens.
If you have a vegetable garden, backyard chickens, goats, a greenhouse, raised beds, containers, or anything that makes food and would like to have your garden listed in the Open Garden Day map, please send your Name, Address and a brief
description of your garden to promotions@feastnl.ca.
The map will be made available in early August.

Everyone is invited to drop by MUN Botanical Garden on Friday afternoon, July 1, noon – 4 p.m. to enjoy Canada Day Celebrations at the Botanical Garden. A variety of crafts, stories, games, activities, duck-feeding, nature hikes and prizes will be provided throughout the day. Create a one-of-a-kind Canada Day butterfly, follow the Maple leaf trail, and find the hidden butterflies in the flower gardens. Go on a Canada Day scavenger hunt. Refreshments, including a birthday cake, will be provided.
Free admission. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Meet a real pitcher plant, and discover how (and why) our provincial floral emblem eats insects. A variety of crafts, games, activities and nature hikes will be provided by education staff throughout the day.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required. Admission fees apply. (Free for members of the Friends of the Garden and MUN students).
