Published today by the Pew Environment Group, A Forest of Blue: Canada’s Boreal Forest, the World’s Waterkeeper presents research on the country’s boreal forest water reserves. The report includes an overview of the conservation values of the “Blue Forest”, impacts and opportunities for the boreal forest, and a summary of policy recommendations.
It also includes information on the extent of intact watersheds and free-flowing rivers in NL, and references some of NL’s most prized wetland areas such as the Grand Codroy Estuary Ramsar site, and the proposed Eagle River Provincial Waterway Park.
