In it’s third successful year, the 2011 Atlantic Green Forum will examine issues surrounding “The Green City” including the value of urban parks, challenges in design and maintenance of industrial commercial green spaces, and the value of green space and park development for social and health benefits. Delegates will be invited to network and share information, learning from local, national and international speakers at this event.
Speakers include Nancy Rottle (Department of Landscape Architecture, University of Washington, Seattle US) speaking on “Landscape Master Planning in Seattle”, Mitchell Hewson (Homewood Health Centre, Guelph ON) speaking on “Horticulture as Therapy”, Raelene White (Central Northeast Health Foundation, Baie Verte) and Tracey Comeau (Central Health, Baie Verte) speaking on “Healing Gardens in Newfoundland”, Paul Ronan (Ontario Parks Association, Milton ON) speaking on “Living Green Infrastructure”, Tetsu Nomura (Japan Landscape Association, Tokyo Japan) speaking on “Green City Landscaping in Japan” and “The Historical change and the relationship between Japanese gardens and Landscaping” and Jane Williams and Rhonda Thomas (Public Works and Parks Division, City of St. John’s): speaking on “Green Spaces in St. John’s and the History of Bowring Park”.
