The winners of our 11th Annual Environmental Art Challenge have been determined. This art challenge is open to all primary and elementary students within Corner Brook, the Bay of Islands, Pasadena and Deer Lake. The theme of the art challenge changes every year, with this year’s theme being “Me and My Watershed…”.
A judges panel made up of representatives from the Western Star, Rogers TV, NF Power, and this year the City of Corner Brook help select a winner at both the primary and elementary levels. As they have every year NF Power will donate a bicycle and helmet as prizes for each of the winners.
Also, as like past years, the winners will be announced during Environment Week (next week). The announcements will be made at the students schools:
- ELEMENTARY LEVEL – 12:30pm, Tues, June 9th. Sacred Heart, Corner Brook.
- PRIMARY LEVEL – 9:30am, Weds, June 3rd. Elwood Elementary, Deer Lake.
If you wish to cover either of these events please check with school prior re: media consents, or we would be pleased to do such for you.
If you are unable to attend the announcements we will release the name of the winners and a high res version of their artwork after the announcement event at their school. With the winners parental consent we may also be able to provide photos of the announcements.
All 183 submissions received will be on display in the Atrium of City Hall during Environment Week, June 1 – 5, 2015.
