As you may be aware, the Government of Canada has launched a new interactive website to gather input from the public on how to address climate change and promote clean growth.
To gather ideas, I am partnering with the Department of Geography at Memorial University, to hold a session (world café style) to get your ideas on what governments and individuals can do to reduce and adapt to climate change.
Please see attached for a presentation that includes questions and topics on which we are seeking your input. Specifically we would like to hear your ideas on:
- How and where to reduce emissions
- Ideas for new technology and job creation
- How to put a price on carbon
- Preparing for the impacts of climate change
- General ideas on climate change reduction
You (or a representative) are invited to join us at 9:30am on Friday, May 27 at Memorial University.
Your RSVP would be appreciated by noon Wednesday, May 25 to Jennifer.Burley@canada.ca as it will help us to plan accordingly and to provide you with additional logistical information.
I look forward to discussing these important subjects with you. Your ideas will be inputted to the portal to be considered in the development of the pan-Canadian framework on climate change and clean growth.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or Jennifer Burley with any questions or comments.
