Note: Some vehicles will be left at Cape Spear and hikers will be transported to Maddox Cove for the actual start of the hike. What better than a hike on Canada Day which terminates at a National Historic Site? The hike out to North Head will be included if hikers wish.
Path: Wreck Path (cappahayden to Chance Cove)

Meeting Location: Meet at Lawlors Services, Lawlors Road, Cappahayden. Continue straight ahead where Highway 10 turns inland at Cappahayden.

Note: Preregistration, at least five days in advance, is required. The maximum is 15 hikers, with priority given to ECTA members.
This path from Cappahayden to Chance Cove Provincial Park is an undeveloped section of the ECT. Expect a variety of hiking conditions, from roadway, rough trail and moose path to bush-wacking, trackless bog and river crossings with knee or waist-deeo water. Good hiking boots and tough, long pants are mandatory. Bring lots of food, drink and fly-dope and enjoy the orchids!
