Fundraising and Project Coordinator

The Newfoundland and Labrador Environment Network (NLEN) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose purpose is to carry out environmental education on issues such as sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, and climate change.

The NLEN serves as an umbrella group for non-profit organizations working across the province that hold environmental conservation and protection as an objective.

The NLEN is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual as a fundraising and project coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the board of directors to organize and implement a fundraising campaign in fall 2013, as well as carry out a small environmental education project.

This position is for 12 weeks (September 3rd – November 22nd 2013) at 25 hours/week with the potential for an extension dependent on funding. Remuneration is $15/hour. The coordinator will report to the NLEN board of directors.

Candidates must have:

  • Strong organizational & written communication skills
  • A self-motivated and independent work ethic
  • Some experience working or volunteering in the not for profit sector
  • Interest in fundraising for non-profits

The candidate must have their own laptop, and has the option of working from home or the NLEN office at 342 Freshwater Road, St. John’s.
