Conservation Corps of Newfoundland and Labrador is a non-profit organization with a mandate to provide young people with meaningful work, training and educational opportunities in the areas of environmental and cultural heritage conservation and enhancement. Conservation Corps is now accepting applications for the following internship position.
Project Coordinator Intern
In partnership with the City of Mount Pearl
The Intern will work with communications staff to develop and implement a communication strategy designed to prevent littering through education and awareness. The Intern will engage corporate partners to take ownership of corporate grounds and ensure they are free of litter. The Intern will work with municipal enforcement staff to develop an enforcement strategy and monitor results. In addition, the successful candidate will organize community clean up events and promote them to encourage participation by residents, with a goal of creating a sustainable community commitment toward a clean and green city. Candidates for this position should have strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills; strong public relation skills and leadership ability; project coordination skills; the ability to work with minimal supervision; a demonstrated interest in environmental conservation and waste management issues would be considered an asset. Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle with appropriate insurance considered an asset. Position based in Mount Pearl.
Salary for the above positions is $15.00 per hour for 35 hours per week for 27 weeks with an anticipated start date of June 16th, 2014. CCNL is a youth serving not-for-profit, therefore successful individuals to the above positions must be between the ages of 16 and 30.
