The City of St. John’s, in partnership with the MMSB and MUN Botanical Garden, are offering backyard composting information sessions and bins to residents of St. John’s for the low price of $30 plus HST. Sessions are occurring from April 22 to June 9 and take place at the MUN Botanical Garden, 306 Mount Scio Road.
You have to be a resident of St. John’s to register and you must prepay for the compost information session. Once you attend the session you will receive your backyard compost bin.
The registration and prepayment for the composting sessions and bins is being done through the City’s RECconnect registration program. If you already have a RECconnect account you can register either by calling (709) 576-8499 or (709) 576-8631 or online at : https://onlineca.activecommunities.com/RecConnect/Activities/ActivitiesAdvSearch.asp
If you don’t have a RECconnect account you can drop in to one of the City’s recreation centres at either the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre at 40 Mundy Pond Road or the Wedgewood Park Recreation Centre at 47 Gleneyre Street. Be sure to bring a photo I.D. and/or utility bill showing a proof of address in the City, and payment for the session.
